The 34th annual Trinco Night, organized by the Trincomalee Welfare Association in Canada to raise funds for university students, will take place in Markham on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.

The event will be held at New Jasmin Banquet Hall, 90 Nolan Court, near the intersection of Woodbine Avenue and John Street in Markham. Also known in Tamil as “Thirumalai Iravu,” Trinco Night will support students’ higher education while bringing together people from Trincomalee living in Canada and well-wishers.

According to the event information provided, Shanmugam Kugathasan, Sri Lanka’s Member of Parliament for the Trincomalee district, and Rt. Rev. Dr. Christian Noel Emmanuel, Bishop of Trincomalee, will both attend the event. Members of the Trincomalee community in Canada and well-wishers committed to students’ educational development are also expected to participate.

The evening will feature arts, cultural and entertainment programmes, including dance and drama. It will offer an opportunity for community members to meet and celebrate while contributing to educational assistance for students’ futures.

Now in its 34th year, Trinco Night brings together support for education and community connections. Helping university students on their educational journey remains the central purpose of the event.
